The original was one of a series of photographs taken from scanned 4x6 prints with instructions for new backgrounds. The suggested theme for this one was hip-hop/gangster based solely upon the hand gesture of the subject. I deemed the subject too young to place into a real gangster scene and so created a mock crime scenario using a toy car and a relative of the subject as the authority figure.
Placing the characters in a country snow scene takes us even further away from the urban reality of the theme. The snow also helps to emphasis the colour of the toy car.

The car was originally a small hand held toy and therefore had very little detail to it. I added a few signs to alleviate the simplicity and placed the subject inside.
The colour of the subject's clothes fitted nicely with the colour scheme of the car.
